Thanks for stopping by at my blog. Yes, I agree, job search does teach you how to sell! I've been pitching and selling my candidacy to many recruiters and feel like I've perfected the art.

I also enjoyed the video you've posted! It's hilarious. And also helped me learn what NOT to do.

For job hunting, I recommend "referral selling" rather than cold-calling. Here are two blog posts that cover this lead generation technique:

I think of cold-calling as a last resort in lead generation, only applicable when you literally have no other way of developing a lead.
